Contrary to the assumption that the ongoing session of the state assembly would be the last one, latest reports say that the assembly would have one more session to pass the vote-on-account.
According to the reports, the assembly may be convened again from February 7 to 14 to take up vote-on-account budget.
The ongoing session, currently debating the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Bill, will be concluded on January 30 and may be extended to pass the vote-on-account budget.
The vote on account will be sought by the government because Legislative Assembly will not be able to vote on the entire Budget before commencement of the new financial year starting from April due to general and Assembly elections.
Various departments have already sent expenditure proposals to the Finance Department and sought required funds.
The vote-on-account budget will be for six months.
If the State is bifurcated before the general elections, the vote-on-account budget for the united Andhra Pradesh will be divided between the two States based on some formula.
