When the caterer for all TRS events found that there were no orders for chicken items in the menu order for the TRS plenary to be held at LB Stadium, Hyderabad, for a brief moment he wondered whether the TRS Party had become vegetarian.
But as he scrolled down the list, he found that there were orders for ‘Talakaya Mamsam’, ‘Boti’ and other non-veg dishes.
But the famous Hyderabad Biryani and other chicken items will not make an appearance at the plenary this year thanks to the bird flu scare.
Nearly 1.45 lakh birds in Telangana alone have been culled in Ranga Reddy district of Hyderabad following the bird flu outbreak in Telangana.
That is the reason why the 50000 odd delegates at the plenary will have to do without chicken this time around. It’s the birds that have played spoilsport with KCR’s menu.
