That the Congress party lacks discipline and there is no cohesion among the leaders and cadre was once again evident on Friday, when two young Congress leaders came to blows on a petty issue.
Telangana Congress leaders – former MLA P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy and Kalwakurthy MLA Vamshichand Reddy -- got into a tussle at a marriage in N Convention Center.
Both reportedly came to ‘blows’ followed by an altercation and complained against each other at Madhapur police station.
According to the information, Vamshichand Reddy came to the N Convention Center at Hitec city Madhapur to attend a marriage of former MLA Vishnuvardhan Reddy’s brother-in-law this morning.
Vishnuvardhan Reddy allegedly assaulted Vamshichand’s gunman for pushing him aside. This incident led to heated arguments between the two and allegedly abused each other and exchanged blows.
Eyewitnesses claimed that both the Congress leaders suffered simple injuries in the fracas. They said Vamsichand Reddy’s gunmen overacted at the wedding hall pushing people aside saying MLA is coming. They also pushed aside former MLA Vishnuvardhan Reddy aside sparking trouble.
Both of them went to the Madhapur police station and lodged complaints against each other.
Vishnuvardhan told police that Vamshichand Reddy has intentionally attended the marriage without even being invited and tried to disturb the function. He also alleged that Vamshichand attacked him and pointed his gun.
Meanwhile, Vamshichand claimed he was invited by the bride’s family repeatedly to attend the marriage and he had to oblige their request.
The MLA alleged that Vishnu assaulted his gun man without any provocation and challenged him for a fight in the heart of Hyderabad or in Mahbubnagar district.
On receipt of the complaints, the Madhapur police registered cases against both under Sections 324 and 506 IPC.
