Badri was a one-of-its kind film in Pawan Kalyan’s career. It’s a unique concept where one guy falls in love with two girls simultaneously.
So, it was no easy task for director Puri Jagannadh to get to Pawan Kalyan and convince him.
Recently, during the audio launch of Dilunnodu, Puri narrated how he managed the impossible.
Apparently, during those days, Puri had no access to Pawan Kalyan. The only point of contact was cinematographer Chota K Naidu.
Only if Chota was convinced about the story, would he let the director gain access to Pawan.
But Puri was caught in a peculiar predicament. His story was unique and there was every possibility that Chota could turn down the story as it was very different.
Not one to give up, Puri came up with an ingenious idea. Instead, he narrated the script of Itlu Sravani Subramanyam to Chota K Naidu, who was very impressed with the plot.
However, when he finally met Pawan Kalyan, Puri narrated the script of Badri, which Pawan liked instantly. Pawan had only one hitch. Chota had told him that the story was a suicide concept and Badri had no such twist.
That was when Puri told him about his little drama. Impressed with Puri’s conviction, Pawan gave him the opportunity to make Badri with him.
Well, looking back, all’s well that ends well.
