It has been a sentiment for Telugu film makers that films released on Sankranti every year would be big hits. Even Telangana leaders seem to be having the same sentiment.
Even as reports indicated that the Telangana formation would be formalized by January 1, the New Year Day, senior Congress leader and MP Palvai Goverdhan Reddy expressed view that the Telangana would get statehood by Sankranti.
He said the elangana Draft Bill would come to the State assembly for a three-day debate probably on December 10.
Palvai told media that the Centre would summon a special session of Parliament for passing the Telangana Bill after December 20 or January first week and accord Statehood to the region.
He said President Pranab Mukherjee would send the draft bill to the Assembly to elicit opinion of the House and be debated for two days in Assembly and one day in Legislative Council.
The legislators have to give their opinion on their respective sentiments but should not go in for any sort of debate for a resolution, he said.
He suggested that the Seemandhra leaders cooperate with the Centre on the bifurcation of the State.
He exuded confidence that the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi would fulfill her promise of giving statehood to Telangana.
