In the wake of the reports coming from various sources that there could be hung assembly in Telangana state after the declaration of results on Tuesday, the Congress party has begun the camp politics.
In an attempt to prevent poaching of its MLAs by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the Congress leadership has begun attempts to keep its flock together.
Ahead of the announcement of the election results, the party asked all its contestants to be available in Hyderabad by Monday evening itself so that they would be shifted to camps if required.
Senior Congress leaders known for their specialisation in camp politics including Ghulam Nabi Azad, D K Siva Kumar, Ahmed Patel, Jairam Ramesh and few other leaders are landing in Hyderabad by Monday evening to oversee the affairs in the state as they unfold after the announcement of the results.
Meanwhile, the TRS launched a counter-attack on the Congress saying the latter is trying to poach its MLAs.
TRS candidate from Nagarkurnool Marri Janardhan Reddy alleged that the Congress party was trying to lure TRS candidates with money as had happened in the case of cash-for-vote case.
Janardhan Reddy said that Chevella MP from Congress Vishweshwar Reddy held discussion over phone asking the former to garner support to Congress party. He also said that Vishweshwar called him for a meeting at Jana Reddy's house.
Vishweshwar Reddy, however, denied the allegation and said it was the TRS which was trying to lure the Congress MLAs.
