Strange as it might sound, the Congress party in Telangana has espoused the cause of Telugu Desam Party in exposing the bluff of Sanathnagar MLA Talasani Srinivasa Yadav who had defected from the TDP to the TRS to become minister in K Chandrasekhar Rao cabinet.
The Telangana Congress leaders, through an RTI petition, brought out the fact that Talasani had not submitted any resignation from his Assembly seat and was illegally continuing in the TRS as the minister.
Former Congress MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy alleged that Talasani Srinivas Yadav had not submitted his resignation letter to the Speaker’s Office yet.
“He won the election from TDP but cheated the four-and-a-half crore people of Telangana by continuing in the TRS Government Cabinet without tendering his resignation to his MLA’s post,” he said.
Alleging that Talasani has misled the Governor and Constitution in this regard, he demanded that action should be taken against Talasani.
He said the Congress party will lodge a complaint with the Governor on Talasani’s episode. He urged the Director General of Police to file a cheating case against the Minister by taking the issue as suo motu.
Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir also demanded that the State government file a cheating case against Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav for cheating the people by not tendering resignation from his MLA post, but claimed that he tendered his resignation to the Speaker.
