The mad race for CM's post in Congress never ends. Congress has already become a subject of mockery for Opposition parties in the poll campaigning in Telangana over the issue of dozens of candidates vying for CM's post if Mahakutami is elected to power in ensuing elections.
"40 CM candidates in Congress" is the main poll plank of TRS.
TRS leaders K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao has been saying in all the election meetings that if Congress comes to power, a CM will be changed every three months for five years to satisfy the power-hungry Congress leaders.
Though TRS leaders might be exaggerating the numbers of CM aspirants, the Congress leaders admit that there are 15 'serious contenders' and 10 'by-chance contenders' for CM's post.
As this was not enough, the top women leaders in Telangana Congress have begun to throw their hat into the CM's ring.
Congress senior women leader J Geetha Reddy, D K Aruna, Sabitha Indra Reddy are learnt to have started lobbying for CM's post through All India Mahila Congress president Sushimita Dev.
Recently Sushimita Dev gave a public statement saying that they will take up the issue of a woman being made Telangana CM with party president Rahul Gandhi.
Women Congress leaders are planning to intensify their efforts by pursuing the case with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi when they visit Medchal on November 23 to address election meeting.
The followers of women leaders already started claiming that their leader will create history by becoming the first woman CM of Telangana in December.
Looks, the list of CM aspirants in Congress would touch 50, which will be almost equal to the number of seats required to win the elections.
