Telangana: Centre not amused by Kiran's move

Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's effort to move a resolution in the state assembly to return the Telangana Bill has not gone down well with the Centre.

Unperturbed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s effort to move a resolution in the state Assembly to return the Telangana bifurcation Bill, the Centre is all set to present the Bill in the Budget Session of Parliament.

A senior minister, who is a member of the Group of Ministers ( GoM) that finalised the Telangana draft Bill, said the UPA government has decided to form Telangana and that the Centre did not take seriously Reddy’s claim that the Bill violated not only parliamentary procedures but also the Constitution.

The minister said Reddy did not have a sound understanding of the Constitution.
