Telangana: BJP Shedding Crocodile Tears?

BJP is now caught up in a Catch-22 situation. Till now, the party had vociferously supported the T Bill both in the Assembly and in the Parliament.

However, as the time to ratify the Bill in the Parliament approaches, it finds itself in a rather tricky situation.

For starters, they did not assume that the matter will come to a conclusion in such a short time.

On the other hand, they are under immense pressure from the Seemandhra BJP leaders and TDP, YSRCP leaders to oppose the Bill.

However, the party is now toying with the idea of suggesting necessary changes and packages for Seemandhra.

But if the suggestions are not accepted or if the Congress does not give its consent, then they are contemplating opposing the Bill.

Either ways, the party will find itself in a tight spot. And that precisely seems to be the strategy of the Congress government. They want to see how the parties that had shed crocodile tears will respond to the new situation.

While the Congress Party official representative Abhishek Singhvi expressed confidence that the Saffron party will support the Bill, he added that it was time to see how parties that shed crocodile tears will cooperate now.

The Telangana Bill will be tabled in the Parliament session starting February 5.
