Former Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting at Medchal on the outskirts of Hyderabad has electrified the election atmosphere in Telangana going to polls on December 7.
And now, it is going to be the turn of Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah to intensify the head in the poll arena.
Shah arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday and he would participate in the party's campaign for December 7 assembly elections in Telangana on Sunday. Shah will address rallies at Parkal, Nirmal, Narayankhed and Dubbak.
Shah had kicked off the party campaign with a public meeting at Mahabubnagar in September and subsequently addressed two more rallies in the state.
Shah’s visit will be followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week. His schedule, however, has not been finalized yet.
BJP general secretary P Muralidhar Rao said for the BJP, the assembly elections in Telangana were very important in the context of the south.
He had accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi of failing to fulfil its promises and said anti-TRS campaigns would be taken up extensively by the party's national leaders including Narendra Modi and Shah.
On the other hand, AICC chief Rahul Gandhi will tour in Telangana for two days i.e, on November 28 and 29. He will be addressing two public meetings in a day starting with Kodangal.
