Teegala all set to jump into Cong

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi is all set to lose yet another precious wicket in Telangana.

Former Hyderabad mayor and ex-MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy is all set to quit the TRS and join the Congress.

According to sources close to him, Teegala, who represented Maheshwaram constituency and was defeated by Sabitha Indra Reddy, who got elected on the Congress ticket, is most likely to join the Congress on July 11 in the presence of Pradesh Congress Committee chief A Revanth Reddy. Teegala already met Revanth and finalized the deal, sources said.

It was only on Monday that Mayor of Badangpet Municipal Corporation Parijatha Narsimha Reddy along with four corporators quit the TRS and joined the Congress party, stating that she had been subject to humiliation in the party.

Ever since Sabitha defected to the TRS and was made a minister in K Chandrasekhar Rao cabinet, Teegala has been sulking  as she has been dominating the party in Maheshwaram. Teegala was feeling completely sidelined and neglected by the party.

Since then, he has been waiting for an opportunity to get better political prospects.  After Revanth took over as the PCC chief last year, he has been identifying potential candidates in Ranga Reddy district and Teegala has grabbed the opportunity.

On Tuesday, Teegala launched a tirade against Sabitha saying she has completely neglected the constituency. He alleged that Sabitha and her followers were indulging in land grabbing in the constituency.

In all probability,  he might face suspension from the TRS even before he formally joins the Congress.
