The deadlock over pre-poll alliance in GHMC elections between TDP and BJP has finally ended.
Senior leaders of both the parties are holding meetings for the last one week to come to an understanding over seat sharing. But with each party gunning for more seats, the talks ended in a stalemate.
However, the TDP and BJP leaders held discussions all through the night on Friday with deadline for filing nominations ending on Sunday.
Sources in TDP and BJP said that an agreement was reached finally to allot 90 seats for TDP and 60 seats for BJP.
Both the parties are expected to address a joint press conference today to make an official announcement over seat sharing.
With only a day left for filing nominations, both the parties are expected to issue their candidates list today in the first phase and second phase on Sunday morning to enable candidates to file nominations by Sunday after noon.
The ruling TRS was first to announce its two lists on Friday. In the first list, it announced 60 candidates and in second list 20 candidates. It still has to announce candidates for 70 seats, which are expected by today noon.
The Congress on the other hand issued first list with 45 candidates on Friday and the remaining lists on Saturday and Sunday morning.
