TDP has won with a clear majority in municipal polls. While TDP won in 64 municipalities, YSRCP barely managed to win in 19 municipalities.
Other parties won in 9 other municipalities. Incidentally, TDP did not win so many seats even when the party was in power.
If the ZPTC and MPTC results to be announced on Tuesday will be similar, the assembly and Lok Sabha seats are likely to be on the same lines. If the results in Panchayats will be different, then the situation can be different.
However, if the rural voters don’t repeat today’s pattern, then the suspense will be heightened prior to counting on May 16. For now, TDP appears to be leading the race.
