TDP MPs Pull A Fast One On Harikrishna

Known for his public display of theatrics, the TDP leader and NTR's son Nandamuri Harikrishna had resigned from Parliament to protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

He was given to understand that all other party MPs and elected representatives from Seemandhra region will also quit their posts to express solidarity with the people of Seemandhra fighting for keeping the state united.

However, none of them followed him. In the end, it was only harikrishna who stood to lose his Rajya Sabha seat as his resignation was promptly accepted by the presiding officer of the Upper House.

Initially, it was announced that all the four Seemandhra MPs-- Narayana Rao, Venugopala Reddy, Kishtappa and N Sivaprasad-- will resign from the Lok Sabha and join the movement for united AP cause.

However, it has now emerged that three of the four MPs-- Sivaprasad, Kishtappa and Venugopala Reddy-- did not submit their resignation letters.

The Speaker's office has announced that it had received the resignation letter only from Narayana Rao. It means that harikrishna was taken a for a royal ride by his party colleagues.

It is said that it was part of a drama scripted by the party chief N Chandrababu Naidu himself to isolate Harikrishna and slowly make him irrelevant in the party circles.
