The opposition TDP and the Jana Sena are functioning as two separate parties, but for all practical purposes, they appear to be one and the same.
Pawan Kalyan reacted to Naidu's arrest first and initially planned to fly to Vijayawada from Hyderabad. However, due to the police not granting clearance for the landing of his aircraft, he traveled by road in a convoy.
Even when the vehicles were halted at the state border, he staged a protest by sleeping on the road. If it weren't for the police intervention, he would have visited the ACB court to support Chandrababu Naidu and even escorted him to Rajamahendravaram central prison.
When the TDP called for a bandh, Jana Sena and Pawan Kalyan extended their support to it. Pawan Kalyan even instructed his rank and file to participate in the bandh.
Jana Sena leaders are now collaborating with TDP leaders to work on protest issues across the state. Pawan Kalyan is resolute in aligning with the TDP in the next elections, as he aims to prevent the anti-government vote from splitting.
With this understanding, both the TDP and Jana Sena are operating as a single entity, albeit with two names and two symbols. It remains to be seen how effective this arrangement will be for both parties in the upcoming election.
