Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu always dreams to be a king maker in politics, whether it is at the Centre or in the State.
And now, his son Nara Lokesh Naidu hopes the TDP will become a king maker in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Lokesh, who is presently TDP national general secretary, asserted on Friday that his party would play a greater role in the GHMC after elections.
Speaking to the media at NTR trust bhavan here, he expressed hope that the party would become a king-maker in the GHMC.
Taking a dig at ruling TRS, the TDP leader alleged that the TRS was wooing leaders of other parties as it has no base and strength in the city to win the GHMC elections.
He also questioned as to why people should vote for TRS as the KCR government has failed even to lay roads in the city. He said he would campaign in the GHMC from January 24 to 31.
Ironically, even as Lokesh is getting ready to lead the party from the front in the GHMC polls, Greater Hyderabad TDP vice-president Krishna Yadav resigned from the party as he was dissatisfied over allotment of tickets to party candidates.
Krishna Yadav alleged that people from the backward and downtrodden sections were being subjected to injustice in the party.
Accusing party leaders of involving in illegal transactions to the tune of several lakhs of rupees, Krishna Yadav said “some leaders” have control on the party and their behavior was detrimental to the party.
