Bharatiya Janata Party MP and official spokesman G V L Narasimha Rao on Tuesday accused Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of lobbying with the Centre for more funds, while attacking in public stating that the Centre was not giving a single paisa to the state.
Rao disclosed a letter written by Naidu to Union water resources minister Nitin Gadkari seeking release of additional funds to the state for taking up Polavaram major irrigation project works.
“While doing lobbying in Delhi for funds, how can you say that the Centre was not giving funds to state projects? In fact, Polavaram is Modi’s gift to the state. The TDP has done nothing in it,” he asked.
He reminded that the TDP brokers were doing rounds in the central government departments in Delhi.
“One of our central ministers clearly told Nara Lokesh not to do political brokerage in Delhi,” he pointed out.
The BJP leader said while demanding that the Centre should give special category status to Andhra Pradesh, Naidu was quietly utilising all the funds released under the special financial package.
“So far, the Centre has released Rs 12,000 crore for five different projects,” he pointed out.
Narasimha Rao said the time has come for the people of the state to pull down Chandrababu Naidu from power.
“We will expose the anarchic rule of Naidu and his theatrics to the people,” he thundered.
