The Telangana Congress party has condemned Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav's remarks against AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh.
"It is highly condemnable that a State minister is issuing open threats stating that TRS workers would not allow Digvijaya Singh to step into Hyderabad.
By making such a statement, Talasani is inciting his party workers for violence. He is speaking in the tone of a rowdy sheeter who is not afraid of law.
As a minister, he must learn to respect the law," Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (GHCC) leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail said on Friday.
Stating that the Congress party was not afraid of such threats, Abdullah Sohail dared Talasani to stop Digvijaya Singh's next visit to Hyderabad.
He said that the Congress party was planning to conduct the next meeting in Sanathnagar, the Assembly constituency represented by Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
"Talasani is too small to challenge Digvijaya Singh and Congress party who have vast experience of dealing with people like Talasani," he said.
Abdullah Sohail said Talasani has been making such statements only to grab some attention of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao who dumped him after GHMC elections.
"Talasani was elected on TDP ticket and then switched over to TRS in the greed of a cabinet berth. He enacted the drama of resigning from the MLA's post for over a year.
He has been living in frustration ever since his portfolio was changed from Commercial Taxes to Animal Husbandry. Following reports that he might be dropped cabinet in next reshuffle, Talasani is trying to draw attention by issuing provocative statements. Talasani's threats are as hollow as his political relevance," he said.
"In his Tweets, Digvijaya Singh has pointed out a specific and serious issue of how some police officials were trying to trap innocent Muslim in the name of ISIS.
Instead of ordering a probe to find out the truth, TRS leaders are issuing senseless statements against Digvijaya Singh. The over-reaction of TRS leaders on the issue clearly suggests that they are trying to hush up the real issue," he said.
Abdullah Sohail said that Digvijaya Singh himself has welcomed the registration of a case against him as he sufficient evidence to prove his allegations.
He said instead of making his party leaders speak against Digvijaya Singh, the Chief Minister should now prepare to prove his innocence in the case.
