If the child of a farmer refuses to take milk or eat his dinner then the farmer and his wife frighten the child saying, “If you don’t drink milk, Chandrababu Naidu will come and take you away.”
The threat has the desired effect! Such is the goodwill Naidu has among the farming community.
Is it any wonder then that the top bureaucrats of Naidu are showing the same lukewarm interest in agriculture?
Special chief secretary of AP, S Tucker is the head of the Planning Department. He is also the commissioner of agriculture production. However, it is alleged that Tucker is spending all his time only in the Planning department.
Similarly, L Premachandra Reddy who is in charge of the agriculture department along with finance is hardly paying any attention to the agriculture department.
Why should they when they realize that the CM himself is not interested in the betterment of agriculture or the lives of farmers?
