The cabinet note on Telangana roadmap is said to have clearly mentioned Hyderabad as the capital of Telangana state.
On the future of Seemandhra, it is believed to have left the options open.
According to sources, the much-awaited note will be placed before the Union Cabinet meeting on Thursday evening, The note is understood to have made it clear that Hyderabad will be Telangana's capital.
After giving clearance to the note, the Cabinet is likely to form a Group of Ministers (GoM) who will work on the modalities of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Also, the note prepared by the Home Ministry is likely to be circulated. That is likely to be followed by a resolution being sent to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly regarding the formation of the new State. After formation, Telangana will be the 29th State of India.
The CWC, which met on July 30, passed a resolution requesting the Centre “to take steps in accordance with the Constitution to form a separate State of Telangana...within a definite timeframe.”
