T-ministers vows to teach lesson to CM

Telangana ministers on Wednesday took serious exception to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy stripping Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu of his Legislative Affairs portfolio and given it to his aide Minister S Sailajanath, just two days ahead of resumption of Assembly session from January 3.

The ministers K Jana Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Sudershan Reddy, Sridhar Babu and others called on Governor ESL Narasimhan and complained against the Chief Minister’s action to delay Telangana Bill.

Talking to mediapersons later, Jana Reddy lashed out at the Chief Minister for misusing his powers. Though, the Chief Minister has discretionary powers to make changes in his Cabinet, the timing of removing Sridhar Babu from Legislature Affairs portfolio was not correct. He attributed it to a plot of destruction and nefarious design being nurtured by Seemandhra leaders, including Kiran to stall Telangana debate in the Assembly.

“Peeved at the move, Sridhar Babu got ready to submit his resignation, but we have advised him not to take a hasty step. We have informed the situation to the high command and the Governor and let us wait for the response from the Party”, Jana Reddy said.

“The high command is keenly watching the steps being adopted by Kiran whose efforts to stall Telangana would not yield fruitful results”, he said.

He said the Chief Minister has been trying to provoke them and going ahead with his conspiracy against the aspirations of Telangana.

The senior Congress leader said “we will sure teach Kiran a lesson” after achieving our target of Telangana statehood. Telangana ministers and other leaders will meet on Thursday and chalk out a future plan of action in a couple of days. As only two days are left for the Assembly to recommence, the leaders should maintain restraint, he said.
