It looks like State bifurcation issue is more important for YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy than heavy rains that caused huge loss of properties and lives in the Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Senior YSR Congress party leader Konathala Ramakrishna said the State bifurcation issue was much severe than cyclone and heavy rains and hence the party had decided to go ahead with holding of ‘Samaikya Shankaravam’ meeting in Hyderabad on October 26.
Bemoaning that the Congress was not rethinking on the division of the State, he said AICC leader Digvijay Singh asserted that Telangana Bill will be sent to the Assembly on November 15. He said there was urgent need to organize “Samaikya Shankaravam.”
Konathala, however, advised the party cadre involved in the flood relief activities not to come to Hyderabad on Saturday. Another party leader Shobha Nagireddy said they would organize the meeting as per schedule and hoped there would be no obstruction to Samaikya Shankaravam to be held on Saturday.
Apparently, the party leadership has felt that there might not be much use if the meeting is deferred to another date, in the wake of fast developments in New Delhi on Telangana front. It is expecting to mobilise crowds from Rayalaseema to make it a success.
