The Telangana Congress party has finally realised that the best way to get into the hearts of the people and win their confidence before the 2019 elections is to develop direct contact with them, rather than being confined to press meets.
As part of the strategy, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee is planning to hoist party flags in all villages of Telangana on November 19. The Congress workers would approach the masses, understand their problems and take measures to resolve them.
It has already started Indiramma Rythu Baata to get closer to farmers. This 100-day programme is aimed at training all Congress workers at booth level in understanding the land survey being conducted by the TRS Government.
The workers have been asked to be in constant touch with the farmers in their villages so as to ensure that they do not face any inconvenience. They would also collect the applications from eligible persons for double bed room houses and three acres of land for Dalits.
The TPCC wants to drive home the point among the cadre that the Congress is the largest party in Telangana in terms of cadre and organisational strengthen.
“The TRS cadre is not present in almost half of the State while Congress party has its cadre in almost all lanes and by-lanes of Telangana," TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said.
The TPCC chief reiterated that the Congress party, after coming to power in 2019, would waive off crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh, provide jobs and give Rs. 3,000 per month unemployment allowance.
