The Bharatiya Janata Party which has been far ahead in finalizing the list of candidates across the country has not been able to do the same in case of Andhra Pradesh, thanks to the stalemate over alliance with the Telugu Desam Party.
The party is said to be facing stiff resistance from its Telangana leaders over the alliance with the TDP, since the latter has lost its ground in the region.
According to them, the BJP can win more seats if it goes alone in the Telangana, as there is every chance that the TRS might support the NDA after the elections. There is however, a broad consensus among the Seemadhra BJP leaders in favour of pact with the TDP.
The Telangana BJP leaders on Wednesday clarified that the party has not yet made any decision to form alliances with anyone.
"No formal talks have commenced with any party. A few Electronic Media Houses are flashing seat sharing numbers as 8 Parliament and 25 Assembly for both Seemandhra and Telangana with TDP, which is entirely a false propaganda and speculative," BJP State Media Convener Krishna Sagar Rao said in a clarification.
The BJP Telangana State Party will make an official announcement in case there is any change from the above stated position of the party, he said.
