The winter session of Parliament will be held from December 5 to December 20. And the Telangana Bill is going to be part of the agenda for Parliament.
This has been approved at the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) which met in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Defence Minister AK Antony. The duration of the session will be short in view of Assembly elections in five States.
“Among other things, the Parliament session is likely to witness the introduction of historic Telangana Bill which would make the dream of 29th State of the country, a reality,” sources said.
This was also indirectly hinted at by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Monday when he said that the Telangana Bill would be introduced in Parliament soon.
Although he did not specify when the Telangana Bill would come, but said that it would be introduced within the stipulated time after completion of the constitutional processes.
"It will come before our tenure ends," he said.
He, however, said he could not predict whether the Telangana Bill would be passed or not. "My job is to present the Bill and I'm doing my job," he said.
