The much-awaited Telangana bill has not found its place in the agenda of the Statte assembly during the extended monsoon session of Parliament beginning on Thursday.
The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Assembly which met under the chairmanship of Speaker N Manohar on Wednesday decided that the House would sit for for seven working days till December 20.
The agenda finalized by the assembly included discussions on losses due to cyclones, heavy rains, SC and ST sub-plan, Brijesh Kumar Tribunal judgment and on rising prices of essential commodities.
However, it did not include the Telangana bill in the agenda as it is yet to reach the assembly. Legislative affairs minister D Sridhar Babu said that the BAC meeting would be held again when the bill comes to the government. Interestingly, the BAC rejected the proposal of YSR Congress party to move a motion on keeping the state united.
The BAC also rejected the demands of the Telugu Desam party to take up debates on situations in Seemandhra and Telangana, law and order situation, BC sub-plan, housing issues and curfew in Vizianagaram town.
