T-bill in winter, confirms Shinde

T-bill in winter, confirms Shinde

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday made it clear that the bill for carving out new state of Telangana will be tabled in parliament during the winter session.

Shinde said that the group of ministers (GOM) looking into the issue of bifurcation of AP would complete its work by the end of November and will submit its recommendations.

The recommendations made by GOM will be included in the final draft of the proposed Telangana bill which will be submitted to the Union Cabinet which in turn forward it to the President Pranab Mukherjee.

Pranab will refer the final draft and will send the Bill to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly before tabling it in parliament.

With things in favour of state's split moving at breakneck speed, ministers and public representatives from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions stepped up their lobbying against the split.

But the big question remains unanswered is that how the Union Government is going to sort out the issues dealing with natural resources like oil and gas, mines, water resources, and things like power, railways and revenues and status of Hyderabad.

It's not a cake walk for UPA ahead of bifurcation of AP.
