Notwithstanding the strong opposition to the AP Reorganisation Bill from Seemandhra leaders, the UPA government has decided to go ahead with its passage in the forthcoming Parliament session.
The bill, popularly known as the Telangana bill, has been included in the agenda of Parliament session along with 38 other bills.
This was informed to the Opposition parties by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamalnath at an all-party meeting held in New Delhi on Monday. He sought the cooperation and support of the Opposition parties in passing the bills.
The session is being held mainly to pass the vote on account budget, along with discussing some crucial issues and many important pending bills are likely to be taken up.
Kamalnath informed the meeting that the Union government was keen on getting the all-important A.P. Reorganization Bill 2013 passed to carve out a separate Telangana State.
