Suspense Over 'special' News From Delhi!

Suspense Over 'special' News From Delhi!

High drama with a lot of suspense is going on in New Delhi on Wednesday over the supposed announcement of “special” news for Andhra Pradesh.

Though it is more or less clear that the Centre would only announce some sort of “special” package to the state, Telugu Desam Party leaders, particularly Union minister Y S Chowdary and MP C M Ramesh are still trying to hoodwink the people saying that chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is strongly lobbying for special category status.

According to latest reports, Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu is learnt to have called up Chandrababu and asked him to come to Delhi so that the announcement could be made in his presence. However, Naidu held a meeting with his Cabinet colleagues in Vijayawada and is understood to have put forth a set of nine demands before the Centre. Only if there is clarity on them, he would go to Delhi in the afternoon.

It is not clear whether the Centre would stick to its original schedule of announcing the package or postpone it to a later date.
