The Congress party still has no clarity on whether the Centre would refer the Cabinet resolution on Telangana or the draft Telangana Bill to the state assembly to ascertain its views.
This was admitted by none other than AICC general secretary and in-charge of Andhra affairs Digvijay Singh in New Delhi on Monday.
“There is no clarity yet regarding the Telangana resolution to be sent to the Assembly to take forward the process of bifurcation of the state,” he said.
Digvijay said explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs had to clarify and clear the confusion over the Telangana resolution to be sent to the State Assembly.
In the beginning the schedule given to him was that the resolution would be sent to the President of India and who in turn would forward the same to the State Assembly.
“Now, the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde seems to have changed the schedule. I have sought an appointment with Shinde to get a clear clarity in the matter regarding any changes made in the schedule. After ascertaining the facts in the matter, I would brief the media about it,” he added.
