Sridhar Babu Uses Personal Car To Assembly

After quitting the cabinet in protest against being stripped of the Legislative Affairs portfolio, D Sridhar Babu on Saturday went to the Assembly in his personal car.

He was there to participate in the proceedings of the House in the capacity as a legislator. However, debate on the Telangana bill could not be taken up because of the ruckus in the Assembly.

"I have submitted my resignation from the cabinet. I have returned all the official facilities and privileges including the government car," Sridhar Babu said.

His stocks as a fighter for Telangana cause have gone up ever since he acted independently as the Legislative Affairs Minister and announced that the debate on the AP Reorganisation Bill had indeed started. This had angered the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who shifted his portfolio.

"It is up to the Chief Minister to accept my resignation or throw it in the dustbin. From my side, there is no change in my position. Let the party high command also know about the situation prevailing here," he said adding that a fight was on between arrogance and self-respect.
