Now that the formation of Telangana has almost become certain, the Congress high command is understood to have decided to create two separate Pradesh Congress Committees for Telangana and Seemandhra.
A decision to this effect is understood to have been taken at the coordination committee meeting of the party in New Delhi which was attended by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha.
AICC in-charge of Andhra affairs Digvijay Singh who held the meeting reportedly conveyed to the state leaders that the PCC had to be split into two in the wake of a clear divide in the party over the bifurcation issue.
According to sources, state civil supplies minister D Sridhar Babu has been sounded for the post of Telangana PCC and his name might be announced in a week or two.
Sridhar Babu is understood have been summoned to Delhi in a couple of days.
