While the Congress rank and file are in a jubilant mood over the tremendous success of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting at Medchal on Friday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi did not lose much time in shooting back at the Congress party.
TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s nephew and minister T Harish Rao alleged that what Sonia Gandhi had read at the public meeting was the script prepared by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Harish questioned the logic behind making Sonia promises for AP at a public meeting organized in Telangana.
He recalled that Sonia has promised industrial subsidies to AP and Telangana, but asked why she had failed to mention them in her speech.
He said granting special status to Andhrapradesh would be detrimental to interests of Telangana. He reiterated that no alliance could affect the winning prospects of TRS in the upcoming elections
Meanwhile, KCR’s son and IT minister K T Rama Rao attacked Naidu for failing to construct Amaravati in the last four years, when the latter proclaiming himself as the developer of Hyderabad in just nine years.
“What he has done so far is to create graphics for Amaravati,” he said.
He said the TDP and the Congress had joined hands in Telangana, as they could not take on KCR alone. He remarked that the alliance had no ideological basis.
“After December 11, Naidu and Rahul Gandhi would have to spend their time playing 'Veena' and `Fiddle' respectively,” he commented.
