With just four days left for the conclusion the last session of the Parliament during the UPA-II regime, the Congress party is hell-bent on getting the Telangana bill passed at any cost.
According to reports from New Delhi, Sonia herself plunged into action, reaching out to all sections, including opposition parties and rebel Congress MPs, to see that the Telangana bill gets passed in the LS on Tuesday.
The party issued a whip to all the MPs to participate in the debate and vote for the government’s bill.
At the same time, her son and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi also got into action.
He called for a meeting of Seemandhra ministers at 7.30 pm on Monday, obviously to convince them on the Telangana bill.
In the bargain, the government might agree for announcement of a hefty financial package for development of the Seemandhra, besides finalizing the capital.
