Some Leaders Still Hope AP Won't Split!

Even as the Centre is going ahead with its decision to divide Andhra Pradesh, there are still some die hard optimists among the Seemandhra leaders who believe that the bifurcation will never take place.

One of them is Minister for Cooperation Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, who on Monday said he strongly believed that Andhra Pradesh would never be bifurcated.

Kasu said he was cent per cent integrationist. He said that he doesn’t think that the Rayalaseema leaders, who are basically proud and courageous, would not agree to the proposal of splitting of their region to carve out Rayala Telangana State.

He recalled that late Kasu Brahmananda Reddi had stoutly opposed de-merger of Telangana region during his regime and told then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi that State might be bifurcated over his dead body.

He also said Congress president Sonia Gandhi alone has right to take any action against him for disagreeing with the high command fiat and none else.
