The Telugu Desam Party has adopted high-tech method in the selection of party candidates for the ensuing general elections.
TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday demonstrated before the media at his residence to show how the party was going to select its candidates by using IT.
“We will select candidates by using IVR system. The party would send SMSes listing four names to mobiles of villagers requesting them to select one name among the four. The questions are: “Mee Vooru, mee Abhyarthi, Mee Ishtame Naa Ishtam (your village, your candidate, your like is my like).
The TDP president said in the system there is also an option of rejecting all the four candidates. If a villager does not like any among the four, he can press ‘0’ button. Naidu said he would also elicit public union about his candidature under this high-tech system.
