Though they may be bitter foes currently, KCR and Chandrababu Naidu are facing similar problems in their home states and interestingly, their responses to the opposition are also similar and that is to shift the blame on to someone else.
Both KCR and Chandrababu Naidu in response to farmer suicides say that it is because of the previous governments i.e. the Congress and its policies.
KCR also blames Andhra for farmer suicides saying that refusal of Andhra to provide ‘power’ is affecting them badly.
Chandrababu Naidu says that YSR regime is responsible and that had the construction of ‘Babli project’ been stalled, farmers wouldn’t suffer today.
Naidu also stunned everyone when he said that farmers’ suicides were also due to ‘love failures’ of farmers. After Naidu made this comment, there was pin drop silence for a long moment. Everybody was so taken aback at this foolish statement that they just didn’t know what to say!
