The definition of media these days has been about showing what they want than what actually happens. Projection of a favorite person or a political party has become the key. But then, there is a line to be drawn there as well. That doesn’t seem to be the case with the Sakshi media and its functioning.
Recently, an interview of Sharmila came in Sakshi and entire focus was on her. In general the programs that come in Sakshi TV and the headlines in newspapers are quite one-sided. For instance, the Samaikyandhra issue is something meant for the common good of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Instead of rebuking Kiran Kumar Reddy for what he is doing, Sakshi should project it as a common cause and offer its hand.
The Sakshi chief Ram Reddy is close to YSR family but it doesn’t mean they convert the media house into a self-dabba device. People should be able to believe and get convinced.
As such, YSRCP which was tagged as born out of YSR sympathy wave has the power to wipe the entire state in the general elections but balance and maturity should be there in the way the party is being projected by the media.
The masses keep following everything closely so even a slight indication that it is all a self-dabba exercise will put them off.
