As a shocked world is still trying to come to terms with the Nepal tragedy, back home, one MP is being truly insensitive with the timing of his remarks.
He is none other than Sakshi Maharaj of the BJP.
Sakshi Maharaj along with Sadhvi Jyothi said that Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Kedarnath was the reason for the earthquake in Nepal.
Sakshi Maharaj reportedly said that since Rahul Gandhi went to the holy shrine without purifying himself, the earthquake was bound to happen. VHP functionary Sadhvi Prachi made a similar remark.
"Whenever Rahul Gandhi visits Uttarakhand, he brings along destruction. During his Uttarakhand visit earlier, there was devastation. Now he has caused an earthquake," said Sadhvi Prachi.
While a tectonic shift is believed to have caused the earthquake, Sakshi Maharaj has a different opinion on the issue.
He blamed the Chinese development activities on the other side of the ecologically sensitive Himalayas, for the earthquake.
If it were true, then why did Sakshi Maharaj not voice his concerns prior to the earthquake? When the priority of the hour is relief to Nepal, such statements are truly uncalled for.
