Shinde Takes Seemandhra Stir Lightly!

Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has virtually taken the resignation threats of the Seemandhra Congress leaders and agitations of the people very lightly.

“Such reactions and actions are common when the state is getting divided. There is nothing new about it and we can tackle them,” Shinde told media in New Delhi on Friday.

He admitted that some of his ministerial colleagues from the Seemandhra region had expressed some apprehensions over the decision to carve out a separate Telangana state. Their concerns would be kept in view and appropriate measures would be taken to resolve them, he said.

Shinde, who had talked about Maoist problem in smaller states in the past, is now saying that such a problem would not crop up with the formation of Telangana state.

As a matter of fact the naxal problem, if any, would also come down drastically even in the Seemandhra, he observed and was confident the problems could be effectively tackled by both the new states.
