Mega brothers – Chiranjeevi and Pavan Kalyan – no doubt have a huge mass following on silver screen. But in politics, they proved to be unsuccessful.
At least Pavan Kalyan is yet to prove his mettle in politics though he launched his political party almost three years ago, but his elder brother was a complete disaster.
In fact, when Chiranjeevi launched Praja Rajyam, many enthusiastic people from various walks of life had joined his party hoping that he would be a big hit in politics like NTR and that they would get a chance to serve the people under his leadership. But on seeing his poor handling of politics which resulted in his party’s flop show in elections, they dropped out.
One such person is noted sexologist Samaram. He had quit Praja Rajyam after he failed to get the party ticket to contest from Vijayawada.
At a meeting held in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Samaram reiterated his allegations that only those who could afford to pay Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore could get the party tickets.
“When everybody hoped that Chiranjeevi would bring in change in politics, he resorted to same old politics of selling tickets and lost the elections,” he alleged.
He also took pot shots at Pavan Kalyan and his party Jana Sena.
“What can Pavan do, when his brother himself could not achieve anything? He will also end up in disaster, as there is no point in depending only on fans, who are useful for whistling and shouting and not serving the people,” Samaram said.
