There is an impression that leaders from the Raju community who worked closely with the TDP have either been sidelined or given smaller roles than expected.
Varma, who was supposed to contest from the Pithapuram constituency on behalf of the TDP, was sidelined to field Pawan Kalyan of Janasena instead.
Varma was promised an MLC position and a ministerial role, but there has been no update on that yet.
Similarly, Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, who aspired to contest from the Narasapuram MP seat, was moved to contest from the Undi Assembly constituency.
Though another Raju leader, Bhupatiraju Srinivasa Varma, won the Narasapuram Lok Sabha seat, he is from the BJP.
Many had hoped that Raghu Ramakrishna Raju would be given the Speaker's chair, but that position has been reserved for Ayyanapatrudu.
Amidst these disappointments for the TDP Rajus, some good news is circulating.
It is said that senior TDP leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju will soon be appointed as the Governor of a state.
If true, this is a welcome development, as Ashok Gajapathi Raju possesses the stature, seniority, and impeccable reputation to hold such a prestigious position.
