The Seemandhra Congress leaders, who till the other day were lobbying for the Chief Minister post in the wake of Kiran Kumar Reddy’s resignation, welcomed the imposition of President’s Rule in the State on Friday.
Former Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, along with N Raghuveera Reddy, Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao and Rudraraju Padma Raju, Anam, told media that as per the information the Centre was opting for imposition of President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh, as there was no room for installing a new government in the wake of election notification expected in March first week.
“We invite the President’s Rule as there is no use in putting in place a new government. Since the new government may face the blame of misusing power, the President Rule is acceptable”, he said.
Anam said the 13th Assembly led to passing the Telangana Bill in Parliament and awaiting President Pranb Mukherjee’s assent soon. Mincing no words against the leaders for cheating the Congress party, he made it clear that even Kiran Kumar Reddy is no exception, who resigned as Chief Minister, MLA and party member.
“We will talk on Kiran’s defiance only after his new party launched and party takes action against him with ‘official stamp’. For administrative reasons, it was delayed by about 10 days to take a final decision on selecting a new Chief Minister or imposing President Rule in the State after Kiran’s resignation. We will respond to Kiran’s comments against this backdrop”, Anam added.
