Former minister and Rayalaseema senior leader JC Diwakar Reddy on Tuesday described the attempt of Seemandhra Congress leaders to stall Telangana statehood as waste, as the Centre was firm on dividing the state.
Speaking to media, Diwakar Reddy made it clear that division of the state was inevitable and it was nothing but wasteful effort on the part of Seemandhra Congress leaders on keeping the state united.
He said that the state would not remain united even if Jagan or himself fought to keep it united.
He said that the state would remain united only if the AICC chief Sonia Gandhi thought it right.
He further said the question would not arise whether the Congress leaders had to work with YSR Congress party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy or not only when the Congress exists.
“The situation of the Congress party will not be different even if Jagan was in the jail or out of jail,” he said.
