Seemandhra Leaders Angry With Sonia

Annoyed at not receiving an invitation from AICC for its meet on Friday, Seemandhra Congress leaders JC Diwakar Reddy and Gade Venkat Reddy on Thursday expressed discontent over the way they are being treated by the high command.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office here, the sulking MLAs said they were ignored by the party high command for keeping us away from the crucial meet.

“We thought we will receive an invitation from the AICC but were denied,” they bemoaned.

On purported media reports that President Pranab Mukherjee may extend 10 days time for Telangana debate, they said they will seek more time.

“We will seek more time through Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Speaker Nadendla Manohar for the debate to ensure that all the members express their views. They denied allegations that those conspiring against Telangana statehood were seeking extension of time. Telangana seekers are accustomed to make such comments which we ignore”, they said.

To a query whether Chief Minister would float a new party at this juncture, they said there are no chances for doing so. I don’t think Kiran Reddy will float a new party, JC added.

JC Diwakar Reddy said that the AICC is showing partiality towards Seemandhra Congress leaders by denying them the invitation to its meeting on Jan 17.

He alleged that the AICC is resorting to step motherly attitude towards them. The AICC invited Telangana Congress leaders and kept us away from its meeting is not correct, he said.
