Sajjala son sacked from YSRCP social media wing?

YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is learnt to have decided to focus on revamping his party organisation by identifying the ineffective and incompetent leaders holding key posts and replacing them with efficient and loyal leaders.

According to sources, Jagan is learnt to have decided to sack Sajjala Bhargav, who was heading the party’s social media wing.

In his place, the YSRCP chief is planning to appoint his trusted lieutenant and young leader Nagarjuna Yadav from Narasaraopet.

Sources said Jagan has come to know that Bhargav has failed to effectively counter the campaign of the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena Party on social media during the elections.

There were allegations that Bhargav had misused a lot of party funds and engaged other so-called social media influencers at a very high cost to campaign for the YSRCP, but they were not as effective as the political rivals.

“He used to ill-treat several social media activists and failed to bring unity among the activists. Because of Bhargav, several people had distanced themselves from social media,” sources said.

Sources said Jagan would give his piece of mind on his future course of action at the party’s extended executive committee meeting to be held at Tadepalli on Thursday.

It is expected to be attended by all the newly-elected MLAs, contested candidates of the assembly and Lok Sabha elections and other senior leaders.

The party office has reportedly been contacting all these leaders, asking them to attend the meeting. However, some senior leaders have not responded to the calls.

They include party general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy and former advisor (communications) G V D Krishna Mohan, sources said.

“The Thursday’s meeting will give clarity on who would remain with the party and who are looking for defecting to other parties,” sources added.
