After coming to power, the TDP sacked Kanimuri Bapiraju and his team heading the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board, in August.
A new board is being constituted towards the end of this month by Chandrababu and Co.
Normally, the board constitutes of fifteen members including the Chairman. But Naidu is extending it to eighteen to include Telangana representatives as well.
The problem for Naidu is from his ally-the BJP. The BJP has asked for representation in the powerful body and Naidu is now having to redo his calculations.
Understandably, Modi and Co would definitely want someone of their own at Tirumala.
Naidu is worried that allowing the BJP in at Tirumala would be giving them the opportunity to make more headway among the masses of not just Andhra Pradesh but from across the country.
Meanwhile, the T-TDP leaders have met Naidu and asked for representation for at least three members. Naidu is said to have promised them two. But it is the BJP factor that Naidu is wary of. For the moment though, ‘Saridon’ is the only solution to this saffron headache.
