News is doing the rounds that Chandrababu Naidu has promised Rs 3 crore to each constituency of the TDP MLA’s.
On Saturday, Naidu had a sit-in with his Party MLA’s and other personnel where the issue of constituency development works came up. That was when Naidu apparently made the above statement.
Now the AP Assembly has 175 members, out of which the TDP has 102, the BJP has 4, the YSRCP has 67 and two others are pro-TDP.
Does Naidu intend to completely deny the YSRCP legislators of funds for their constituency or does he plan to give them at least a fraction of what he has in mind for his own legislators?
While it normal for opposition constituencies to receive lesser funds than the ruling constituencies, if Naidu completely rejects funds to the YSRCP then it is grossly unfair and a poor reflection on his democratic practices!
If the above news of releasing funds is indeed true, then hopefully, Naidu is fair in his allotment and does not set a bad precedent!
