Here's an incident that took place during the previous government in Andhra Pradesh.
A prominent candidate who contested as an MP in the 2024 elections called a close friend of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who happens to be a businessman.
The candidate told him, “Jagan asked me to take Rs 20 crore from you for election expenses, and the amount will be returned soon after the election.”
Before the businessman could even process the request, another close aide of Jagan, who handles his daily affairs, called and conveyed the same message.
To add more weight, a third person, responsible for managing some of Jagan’s appointments, also called with the same request.
Trusting all three, the businessman handed over ₹20 crore to the candidate. However, the election took place, and the candidate lost. So far, the money has not been returned.
It remains unclear whether Jagan actually authorized the request or if these three individuals orchestrated a scam.
The irony is that, despite being Jagan’s friend, the businessman could only reach him through these three intermediaries. Now, none of them are answering his calls.
Frustrated and uncertain about what to do, the businessman is left sharing his ordeal and lamenting his situation with friends.
